Torque Converter?

My '92 Formula might have a torque converter that needs replacing, but I am not sure if that is the problem. I am hoping that if I describe my symptoms, then someone here might be able to tell me what the cause might be?

At idle in gear, the car seems to have a slight lopiness, or shudder. This seems to disapper if the trans is placed in neutral or park

On the road, if accelrating rapidly, either from a stop or from 60 mph, the car has a pronounced shudder. Accelerating gently and slowly makes the shuddering disappear. The shudder seems to be more noticeable when driving in the OD gear, but it is also present when in D.

So, does this sound like a converter issue?

Sounds like it could be a converter. Could also be a bad pump bushing or many other problems.

I had a torque converter that went out of me once, you will know if it is the torque converter because the problem will continue to get worse until it gives out. When you can feel a slip from the trans when your accelerating from a stop that’s when you know its the torque converter. Don’t do what I did and wait till the torque converter gives out!! O and by the way when all this was happening I never heard a "shudder" sound or any sound it was just the felling of something slipping. I hope this helps.
