alright well first off i start it up fine, and figure the injectors prob could use some cleaning put some fuel injector cleaner in the tank and well since then it runs good for a minute than it starts sputtering rev it and it gets better but recently even reving it isnt helpin much what is my problem, fuel filter? maf? im confused i have a 85 z 305 TPI

 

Begin with the basics. Good ignition - distributor cap, rotor, wires, plugs, timing. Check for vaccum leaks, including the EGR and PCV valve, and inspect the inlet ductwor behind the MAF for leakage. Verify clean fuel and air filters, and adequate fuel pressure. Once you have covered the basics, if the problem still exists, check back with further observations. It is possible that some of the injectors are not flowing at the correct rate, or not spraying a good atomizing cone of fuel, but it would be impossible to isolate that without first confirming good ignition, fuel, and compression.
