summit tach in stock location?

Anyone know if I can use a 3 3/8" summit tach, and not use the little stand, but cram it into the stock location?

I'd rather not have a giant tach sitting out in nowhere, and i'd rather not pay $200+ for some of the autometer "in dash" tachs.

Thanks
