planning a potential build

I may be getting an 88 IROC in the next two weeks and have started to plan how I want to build it up. Basically, Id like some opinion on my parts list as compared to the car I want to have at the end. What might that car be? It will hopefully be something that is a daily driver, extremly reliable, easy to mantain, and noticably more powerful than stock but not wild. Probably around the 300hp limit at max. The car is a 305 TPI with a peanut cam. Here's the list of parts Id like to put on it in stages, since I can't afford it all at once. If anything doesnt make a good combo, or something should take priority over something else, please comment.

Stage 1
Flowmaster 80 Series - FLO-17234
Hypertech air foil
K&N Air Filter - KNN-33-2008
MSD HEI Upgrade kit - MSD-8501
Accel wires - ACC-4065
BBK Pullies - 129-1598

Stage 2
Crane Cam - CRN-104225
B&M Shift kit - BMM-70239
Catco - CTO-9118
Hooker w/ Y pipe - HOK-2055HKR
Crane Cams Adjustable
Fuel Pressure Regulator CRN-99470-1

I have a really tight budget and cant do anything too fancy like PROM burning. Im hoping that this combo of parts will be fine with the stock comp, which is why I picked such a mild cam (its basically the same grind as the manual tranny cam) I cant have the ecu trip any codes, because NH started a new system that checks your ecu for codes and sends the data to the state capital, which says pass or fail. If I could burn a prom, things might be better for me, but I cant afford that kind of setup and still buy parts. Basically Im looking to come close to the performance of my 96 Z28 I had a while back. Thanks for reading this short novel, hopefully it'll make the best sellers list.
