new to the v8 and need help
hello all. i just bought an 85 camaro f41 and there is something wrong with it. it hesitates at half thottle but runs great above half and i have a check engine light when it hesitates i try to get the code but all i get is a clicking sound but no code. any ideas? any help will be greatly appreciated thank you shawn

First are you trying to get the codes with the car running or off with the ignition switch in the run position(<- this is the correct procedure)?Sounds like you may have a fuel/fuel supply problem though.

Get the codes by shorting pins A and B on the diagnostic port under the dash. It will pause the flash a number of times to give you you're code.
Have you started with the basics since you just bought the car? Basics as in basic tune up. Check the carb as well. Get a can of carb cleaner and try to clean it up. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air filter, and fuel filter should all be on the list

yes the engine was off and the key in the run position. when i bought it the carb was just rebuilt new cap,plugs,wires and i have a k&n airfilter here at the house. when i put the code key into the port something makes a clicking sound. any help is appreciated. shawn
