305/350/3.1 differences
305/350/3.1 differences
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I have a general question about the engines used in a 1992 camaro.
What kind of block and heads did all of these use?
305TBI, 305TPI, 350TPI, 3.1MFI?
I want to say they were all iron except the 3.1, which might have had aluminum heads, but I don't know??

I believe all are iron, although I'm not completely sure about the heads on the 3.1.
Any particular reason you ask?

Yeah, I'm playing musical knock sensors... I'm trying to match a reason behind why the 3.1 knock sensor is the same as the 5.0 TPI one. I figured something on it is making it ring at a different "tune", which is why I ask if it has any aluminum on it
