I have a 1991 Firebird, a 305 TBI. My car sat for about 3 weeks without being started. Stupid, I know. 3 weeks ago, I got gas in a gas can, put gas in it, and I had to jump it, but it started. I have started it on Friday of the past 2 weeks. I wasn't home this past weekend, so it hasn't been started since last Friday. I treid to start it yesterday, and it would just click, but it wouldn't start. The instrument lights are really dim. The headlights don't both go up when I try to turn them on, and when they do, they go very slowly. The wipers also move very slowly. Am I right in guessing that this is an electrical problem? Should I replace the battery? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like time for a new battery unless you want to try and jump it again. If the battery is too fried even jumping it wont get it started. My car sat for over a year and had the same issue. Put a new battery in it and it works great.

your battery is dead. Bring it to a parts store and have them test it and recharge it if it's still good.

Ok, so it's just the battery, and not like the alternator or anything? I tried jumping it again, it would just click, but not start. If it's just the battery, that's good, because I have no money for new electrical compnents right now!

Put a new battery in it. Then after you start the car and have it running, remove a battery cable. If the car stays running the alternator is working fine.

When you go to get a new battery bring your old one in anyway and have them test it just for your peace of mind. Some of the parts stores are starting to charge a "core charge" on batteries so this will save you a return trip at least.
