Car rotates but will not start
I think I posted this in the wrong forum last time...OK guys, Ive been working on my trouble code problems and I've fixed them all, at least when I checked earlier the only one that showed up was 12) well guess what, I go to start my car to finally drive ti to school again, i turn the key and it rotates, a lot. It wont start. I figure its prolly the alternator, cuz after rotating it for a while, the lights inside a flickering everwhere, heck even the speedometers kickin around 5mph, and I stop, go out to the hood and hear this whirring sound. Does anyone know if theres anything else I should check other than the battery connections, or should I just go ahead and get this new alternator. And if I do get an alternator, is it worth the xtra $ for these 140 amps ones? thx
Also, I think this is prolly a starter, how would I check this, and could it be the starter relay?

What kind of motor are we talking about here. I don't think the alternator is your problem. The lights flickering on and off as you were trying to start it sounds like the battery is either discharged or you were draining it by trying to start it. Check the wires at the ignition coil and ignition module to make sure they're not damaged. Spray some WD-40 on your wires and cap and see if that fixes the problem. Make sure the distributor isn't loose, and make sure the battery has a full charge. If none of the above fixes your problem, then you've probably got a fuel delivery problem. Let us know how it goes.

The easiest way to check for a fuel delivery problem is to spray starter fluid into the carb, t.b.i., or t.b. for t.p.i. If the car starts, you have a fuel delivery problem.

i had the same problem. my ignition control module went bad. the motor the spin all day. that fixed that. but then it wouldnt rotate. for mine the starter was stuck because when i tried to start it i didnt have enough power going to the starter. i had to hook jumper cables up to it and have some one turn the key and tap the starter and she started right up. hope that helps
