Thermo Stat housing stud
Well lately I have been having trobles with my 2.8 mpfi and have determined that the thermostat was stuck shut causeing my drain **** to blow out of the rad, so I went got a new termo stat, gasket, and a rad cap because mine doesn't hold pressure. So to get to the thermostat housing I took off the throttle body and got the one easy bolt out with no issues and then moved onto the next one and it is a stud that comes out of the block. I got the first nut off that held a bracket on then moved to the next nut to take the housing off and I got about one turn where it was comming loose and then one turn that twisted the stud and broke off just above the block....
How can I go about getting it out without drilling it out because then I assume I would have to remove the whole top end of my engine by the looks of it, so any suggestions would be greatly apprecated!!!thx.

But I dont know if that stud is ment to come out it might be part of the block and I dont know so I might have to drill it out and re tap it then just use a normal bolt.

It's a stud.
It's therefore a piece of hardware; not part of the block.
Or, the intake manifold; which I think is what it screws into.
Not too much to do, besides what ede suggested.
If it was me, I'd drill it; I'd file or grind it flatfirst; mark it with a center punch at the exact center; starting with a very small drill bit, like a 1/16", drill it out very carefully, and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES break the drill bit; and keep drilling with larger and larger bits. Then Heli-Coil it, and get the right hardware piece either from your local stealership, or the junkyard.

I had the same thing happen to me. I did what sofakingdom said. except I tapeed the hole a little larger and used a larger bolt. When Drill it out and if Be carefull with the drill bit , I broke mine in the stud and had to use dremel with triangle tip to grind around the bit. Take your time when you drill.
Come to think of it, I broke the cheap a$$ sears bolt remover becasue I didn't drill deep enough into the bolt.
