Partial AIR removal

I live in PA and I have inspections.
I also have a dual snorkel air cleaner patiently waiting to go on. The AIR junk is in the way.
Can I (read: has anyone ever) remove enough of the AIR system to fit the dual snorkel, and plug vacuum lines and such, so that when inspection comes around I can put the stock stuff back?
Any problems with partially removing the AIR?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
There is no conflict between AIR and dual-snorkel air cleaners.

The L69 cars were equipped with AIR, same as any others of the time.

No need for this pretext to hack stuff off your car. Just put the air cleaner on.

Have you put an L69 air cleaner on a 91 TBI?

I did.
I took off my stock air cleaner, and put the Dual snorkel on top of the TB. It tilts about 4 inches in the air on the left side because it sits on top of the AIR diverter box and hoses.
If you found a way around it, let me know, otherwise, has anyone partially removed the AIR. Any complications (such as vacuum, Cat. issues)?
