How many miles before rebuild on this combo...?
I am building a 350 or possibly a 383 small block if my block will allow that long of a stroke. I heard that the you could not stroke vortec engines, can it be done? . Im using a 97 350 vortec engine with hypereutectic pistons and possibly gapless rings. Im also going carbed. Im using an edelbrock air gap intake, I have a roller cam with .452 int. 460 exh... and 208 int. 212 exh duration. Im going to run full length headers also. For the transmission I have a built turbo 350 and a 2000 stall converter. Im running 3.23 gears in the rearend. My question is.. how many approximate miles do you think I can get out of my combo before a rebuild? And what kind of power numbers and quarter times can I expect? Any help and ideas would be appreciated ... Im going back to a small block chevy from a cadillac 500 in my 84 trans am... ha ha.

Well if you take it to the strip as soon as you finish it and miss a shift and spin 8000RPM you can expect about an 1/8 of a mile.
If you just street drive it, it'll last well over a 100,000 miles. That's not really a question anyone can answer. It's all in how well it's built and how well you drive it.
