Alt bracket with victor jr

Last thing I have left is to mount my alternator. The stock bracket mounts to the waterpump and manifold, but my victor jr doesn't have the spot for it. Anyone done this and have a part number? I found some kits from march, but there all real expensive.

Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Go to GM and get the bracket for something like a 69 Chevelle 350. It's exactly like the one you have, except that it goes to the water outlet, instead of the extra boss on the intake.

On the cheap.... Spectre makes a cheap chrome bracket that only goes from the alt to the water pump- no connection to the intake manifold. I had to use one on my SBC with Weiand 142 roots blower for similar reasons. No problems with it in 3 years of use- no breakage, no thrown belts. Find in the cheap chrome parts aisle of your local Pep Boys. It really is a piece of crap as far as the chrome plating but it's functional as he11.

BTW- not all SBC manifolds have the t-stat housing in exactly the same place. Height and centering between the water ports can both vary slightly.

thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've tried a bunch of different brackets from earlier cars, and as Damon suggests the housing seems to be too high to make them work right. I'll definetly order that bracket from spectre, strip it, then have it powdercoated. Thanks again guys EDIT Is this the one Damon?

Do like me and every one else I know do. Cut the portion of the alt bracket off where it bolts to the intake. I drive mine on the street and it been like that for ten years.
