Motor Mounts.... they're not too bad...

I was nearly petrified to have to do my motor mounts in my car. Even with the motor out i've heard only that its the biggest pain in the rear end ever. So i tried it. The passenger side motor mount was first. I ended up not having a long enough 15mm wrench, so i had to take a trip to Sears, and i ended up getting a 16mm as well. The 15 was perfect for the rear top bolt, and the 16 perfect for the front top bolt. A wrench and socket perfect for the bottom bolt.

I had to post this, for the ver motor mount weary, its not that bad of a chore. Because i was expecting it to be back brekaing the first mount took nearly 2 hours, the second was off and on in 30 minutes. I replaced them all with Energy Suspension motor mounts.

My question tho is, why didn't gm make this design awesome. Attach the actual motor mount to the engine, and the clam shell to the car. That way when you change motor mounts you wont need to strain so much, seems like a better design to me.

Best mod ever for $25, long lasting motor mounts, and ride comfort once again. My old motor mounts had actually fractured the old ones, instead of just wearing the metal had broken. Thats what blocked off accumulators will do.
