magnetic timing probe

I kept looking for a conventional timing guage and found mine behind the water pump and I have the engine that has the magnetic timing probe hole and I don't have a clue what I need to set the timing. If anyone knows I sure would be grateful to hear from you

The magnetic timing probe hole should be attached to a conventional timing comb.

Okay, thanks. My book said something about special equipment. I did time it the regular way but thought I was missing something.
