form-a-gasket or gaskets?

I am finishing building another engine and am wondering if for the Fuel pump block-off, water pump and timing cover if it is better to use some of the red RTV sealant or the black gaskets that you always get.
I would think that the RTV would seal better, but would it be as good? I have both.

I use a very thin coat of RTV on both sides of the gaskets and seems to seal up good.

I use spray Coppercoat on paper gaskets & surfaces.

i like a very thin layer of untracopper on all pans then the gasket and depending where i might use high tack to hold the gasket to a machined surface. like 1 piece oil pan gaskets and they get no sealer of any sort.

So I guess that the answer is to use both.

I wouldn't put RTV on a gasket, personally.
