Hydraulic roller cam install

Does this still need cam lube on all of the lobes like non-roller cams? I noticed Horsepower TV didn't have any on the cam when they were inserting their roller cam into a ZZ502.

Do not use any cam lube on a roller cam. Use what ever oil you will be putting in the oil pan.Apply it on all the jernalls and were it rides on the cam brg I also lube my lifters in oil also.

Just lube the journals, and when you drop the lifters in, use some lube on the wheels. Anywhere metal touches metal you want a good lubricant. Regular oil will drop off before you fire the motor. I use Melling's assembly lube on that stuff, it's like a thick oil not a paste. Use it on the lifter wheels, timing chain, both ends of the pushrod, rocker fulcrum and the rocker tips/valve stem.
