Intake repair

One of the carb studs in my intake was stripped out when i purchased it. What is the best way to repair this?

helicoil? Is it worth paying a shop to do? Is there a kit available for this repair?

heli coil is the best bet, don't pay someone to do it just go to your local parts or hardware store and buy a kit, shouldn't run ya over 6 bucks. They are very easy to do, you simly drill to appropriate size, tap and install the thread insert, anyone with basic ability to use tools can do it.

So the tap and insert is all included in the kit? I just need a drill and a bit?

I tried to get an M6 helicoil kit here, since it's a weirdo "helicoil" tap, and you need an install tool, it was $54. So I think $6 might be hopeful, but hey, here's hoping you get a good deal.

I think it's a 5/16" NC hole.

My Helicoil kit at Autozone was $20, and I think I still had to get the bit at Home Depot. But it worked.
