breaking studs
breaking studs
Ok guys 1st off Im new to this forum but not the site. I learned of this place from Z28.com
So here is my issue.....................I keep snapping my driver
side rear studs when I put my Weld Pro Stars on. I use a 7/16th spacer also. The rim is 15x10 and thetire is a Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radial (275/50/R15). Im using the 12MMx1.5 chrome plated lugs. Ive never had an issue like this on the back passenger side. What could be going on to make them brake?
Also is there a way to fit a 15x10 rim under the car without using a spacer? I saw something that looks like rubber in my wheel well. Maybe the seatbelt harness? I have 4 wheel disc brakes. Im lost and car is going into shop tomorrow. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15x10 with 5.5" backspacing on the rears should snug in nicely
not sure of the back spacing on the rims itself. I do know there isnt any scraping or grinding. ButI haveto have the 7/16th spacer or it is too much rim. Would my not having any bushings in my rear sway bars cause the breakage of the studs

I'm gonna say that its your spacers causing the problem. The right (passenger) side of the car sees more force when you launch. The power of the engine twisting the drive shaft and the rear axle plants the right rear tire the hardest.
