Powerbraking
I have an automatic 1991 Camaro with a 350 TBI in it(i know not original engine). Anyway i've always powerbraked it while in Overdrive but recently my friend who also drives a camaro told me that he thought powerbraking in Drive was a better way to do it. Which is the better way to powerbrake?
well, i never powerbraked in either, unless i was trying to burn the tranny.
Put it in 1st and call it a day. With my bad luck, when my old 9bolt posi went bad, the tranny would shift while power braking. Same with donuts, i had to start putting it straight in 1st and thats it.
When i get to drive the car with my new 9 bolt posi and 3.7 gears, i'll be loving life.

i doubt powerbraking in D instead of OD makes a difference, your not spinning the tires fast enough(well i hope) to shift gears OD just makes 4th gear avaliable for cruising, i dont think it affects the lower gears, but i could be wrong

Dropping it down to first is supposed to increase line pressures in the tranny, so technically you wont cook it as easy if you drop it down...
maybe...
