Shocking coil
I am getting a shock anytime I put my hand near the coil. I have enen put a new wire from coil to distributor. Is this a symptom of a bad coil. Also seems to cut out at about 4500.

sounds like it to me. prolly have part of the wiring of the coil shorting internally to the housing itself.

The insualtion on the coil itself has broken down or it's carbon-tracked, giving the high voltage side of the coil a path to the outside. If it can shock your hand it can easily zap straight to the metal "ring" around the coil and ground out as well.

You could have a bad wire or plug too with too much resistance. This will increase the voltage in the coil and make it possible to arc out at you.
