moroso vacuum pump with march pulleys?
I tried the electric pollution vacuum deal, but I managed to burn out the pump in a matter of a week. Yes I used an oil seperator, and yes I removed the foam from in there. There goes 70 bucks... oh well.
Anyway, this post is to look for anyone who's using the nice moroso belt driven vacuum pumps. My concern is that I've got a March pulley setup, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to fit the moroso pump in there anywhere - March doesn't make a bracket for pollution pumps (which I think is the same form factor as the Moroso vac pump). Is it possible that the vac pump will fit the March AC brackets?

The Moroso pump doesn't use any of the factory pulleys. It has a mandrel attached to the balancer through the factory pulley. The mandrel extends to the outside of the pulley where a small gimble (cogged belt) pulley is attached. This drives the Moroso pump.
The Moroso pump isn't designed for a street engine with a multiple belt system. If in doubt how it will fit, contact Moroso before spending $700 for the pump system. There's a real nice bracket that mounts the pump under the crankshaft.

It looks like the pump from GZ motorsports can be run off a normal pulley - but my problem is that the smallest crank pulley March makes for my setup is about 6 inches. GZ suggests running the pump at around 50% of the crank speed.

ok I see what you're saying about the mandrel. Have you run one of these? Does it use just the center bolt?
I've been trying to find some dimensions on the Moroso mandrel to make sure it'll fit my application. Too short and the belt will hit the existing crank pulley - too long and it'll hit my electric fan. I guess it's time to call Moroso or GZ.
