knock sensor??

knock sensor??
i was wondering if anyone knows this. does anyone know what sensor this could be...it is on the left side of the block,between the 5 and 7 plugs, i think it might be a knock sensor but i am not sure. right now it is just 2 end in each other, it slides in and out really easy. sorry i don't have any pics of it.but it is about 1-2 inches below the plugs.

if its in the head, its the thermostatic switch for the rad fan. The knock sensor is down near the starter, in the coolant drain hole in the block.

no it is on the left side of the block when looking at it from the bumber. it is about an inch or two under the headers
