flakes in oil

i did a serch count find what i was looking for,

theres the short- fuel pump went sour- car sat 2 years, got it fixed about 3 weeks ago. i have it runn for an hour every day since, and last sunday took it out for the afternoon, runns fine- exahust smells rich. checking my oil everyother day. today there were a few small looked liked flakes, in the oil. the oil it self is very clean! not smokey or black or anything. is this common? what could be the cause? how can i fix it?

thanks...

Grab a couple magnets out of a hard drive. Change your oil and filter. Put one on your new oil filter. Use the other to see if you can manipulate the 'flakes'. Cut open your oil filter and see what you find. Maybe spring for an oil analysis.

Could be anythig from metal to percipitates.

No, just attach the magnet to the metal external case of the oil filter..

Yes I was told the outside of the filter, that way the flakes will stick to the inside of the filter in that spot so you can cut it open and check it out later.
