is it a roller cam? if not then possibly, also that is a HUGE cam for vortec heads, way too large of a choice. not to mention you're running too small a stall for it.

it won't eat the lifters.

but yea, maybe not the best cam choice for those heads, unless they've been really worked or something...

I'll be mildly porting them, moreso the exhaust port. Gasket match and a polish, with a three-angle valve job as well.

But why is that not the best choice in cam for my heads?
And what would be a better stall speed?

well i'd look for a cam around a XE274 style. whether you get the 274 in solid lifter, solid roller, or roller, is all about the same lift. those heads flow worse at .550 lift than they do at .500 lift. Don't forget that the XE274 cam calls for 3000-3500 stall, you're choosing a larger cam so i'd say 4000+, which wouldn't be very streetable. i'm running a similar cam to the XE274 only a solid lifter custom grind and i'm running a stall right around 3600 behind this motor, with 4.10 gears and 28" slicks to be optimized. 850 DP and a super victor intake as well.

I don't get why I need such a high stall... Is there zero low-end?
