My newly rebuilt 350 has started to tick until it is driven for 1-2 mins. Idleing doesn't make it stop. I took the cover off and it is the front valve on # 1. I tried tightening it and it stopped for a while but then it started again. It only does it on start up only. It has good oil psi. and the studs are fine . they are 416 heads.
if i replace just that lifter do i just run it like a cam break in?
My engine warranty pays me $35/ hour by the chiltons guide to fix anything since i did the install. I just wanted your opinions before i called them.

think i'd put an indicator on a couple two or three lifters as well as the one in question and see what sort of reading(s) you get
