whos running an edelbrock 2 piece timing cover(4242)

I have a 87+ rollor motor and I swear I am running the Edelbrock 2 pc timing chain cover on it even though Jegs and Summit both say it wont fit any 87 and later engines. I am trying to buy new gaskets for it and I dont know if I need special ones specific to this cover or if I can get away with buying 2 regular gaskets. I know for a fact that my cover is from Edelbrock and it IS a 2 piece design. I also know for a fact that my engine is a 87+. what gives here.

The bolt patterns and gaskets are the same before and after 87. They're probably more concerned with it clearing the timing set.

Yeah I used it too on my Roller block and no problems, the oil pan gasket is a little tighter of a fit but if you lube it up it will slid in no problem.

I just installed one on my '76 model engine. But that set has 3 studs tack welded to the " adapter" plate at the bottom to help pull the front cover to the back piece. It does require a special gasket. But you could probqably make your own without too much effort
