Engine: 5.7 carb
Transmission: 700r4
question on engine
i have a 86 z28 with 350 carb, when i was using 89 gas, i was getting a ratting sound, when i went to 93 gas it stop ratting, i dont understand why

One's first guess would be your timing is too advanced.
Anything more than a guess would require more information. Such as, what carb and distributor are you running? Compression ratio? Cam? Heads? Functional EGR or no? Etc., etc., etc.
