Im about to install my new motor in my car. Its a 383 with about 490 horse. 10.3:1 compression. Im trying to get some tips on breaking it in. Havent done this before. Heres what i know. I know I have to let it rev at like 2500 for about 20 min then shut it off let it cool and do it again. Then change the oil a filter. Then set timing. If im missing anything let me know thanks.

I don't know of any reason to repeat the cam break-in. 20-30 minutes is fine. Change the oil & filter after that.
