car wont start
today i got my 91 firebird running.i did the 305 to 350/tbi to carb swap.i put and edelbrock 750 carb on it.anyway i was doin the initial breakin at 2000 rpm's .i had the vacume advance disconnected for some reason.anyway it was backfiring a little so i adjusted the distributor until it ran good.dont remember if i advanced or retarded.well when i brought the rpms down it died and i never could get it started after that.correct me if im wrong but my theory as to what happened is since the vacume advance was disconnected,at the higher rpm it was running bad and when i adjusted the distributor i did the job of the vacumme advance so when i brought the rpms down the timing was all screwed and thats why it died.and thats why i cant get it started.i tried moving the distributor but i never could get it cranked again.im geussing i need to get a friend to turn the car over while i point a timing light at it to get the timing back in order.does this make any sense to anyone?
