wierd starting problem
Hello, thanks for the help in advance. Now to the problem every once in a while when i go to start my car it will not start it acts like the battery is dead
turning over very slowly or just clicking but if i keep trying usually in a few minutes it will go from clicking to turning over slowly and jsut speed up more and more until it starts then if i turn it off it will start fine.
----------
By the way late night i forgot to post car and whatnot. Its a 92 rs with a swaped over 350 with about 6000 on new engnine and no other problems of this kind what so ever.

If at the times it doesnt crank at all...does it click? do the lights dim when you turn the key? does your voltage meter move? ... if none of these happen, I THINK that may be your VATS wearing out...
otherwise, clean up and tighten all your connections between the battery and starter and block first.... and if that doesnt work have your local autoparts place check your battery...
If battery is good, change that starter...

everything above holds true. Have you adjusted timing at all? If the car is too far advanced this will happen as well. Check your battery to make sure its got enough cranking amps. I just replaced mine from 400 to over 600 and wow what a difference.
cheers and good luck.

it could also be the bendex on the starter. the little round thing above the starter. it happened with my camaro. it slowly went out until it wouldnt start at all. its a pain in the behind if you dont drop the exhuast. if you find out thats the case, take the time and drop the exhuast. its much easier that way.
