PISTONS question
PISTONS question
Which pistons (company) should I use with my 383 stroker? I definitly want forged, but which is the best company for quality and for the money? Is there anything else I should know about pistons before making a decision?
Thanks

Already got the crank and rods?
If you already have the rods are you going to use press fit wrist pins? bore? dish/dome?
If you dont have the crank or rods yet, you would be best to pick up a stroker kit from eagle...

No, I don't have any of the other parts. The machine shop wants me to bring them pistons first so they can get the bore correct. It will be 30 over. I want flat tops with valve reliefs. What are the piston pin options and how does one benefit from the other? The eagle pistons are good?

The wrist pins will either be pressed into the rods, or use locking clips. To use locking clips the rods have to have bushings in the small ends and the pistons need to be machined to accept the clips. Either system works just fine.
