Engine/Heads/Etc Gaskets??
Hey guys, I was trying to search, but I didn't really come up with anything. Does anyone know of a thread about this? if not, I guess we can make one :P
I was wondering when I should change the gaskets in my engine? I know you have to change them if they leak... but to my knowledge the whole 18? or 19 years of my 1989 Camaro (2.8L v6) the engine gaskets have not been changed.. or heads, or anything else at that matter. It has about 120k miles on the whole car, including trans and engine.
So, should I wait till I blow a gasket? change them all soon in a good days work? Let me know what you think, or if you find a thread!
Thanks,

Also, anyone know of a checklist to do every 6/12/18/24/32/etc months? I know Haynes has one, but also another list that we think needs to be done?

the haynes checklist is probably good enough.
No, don't change gaskets until they leak. Checking the driveway for spots will tell you when you need to change gaskets. Checking internal fluids like the oil, will let you know if you have an internal leak (head gasket...). If the oil is milky, etc....
Save your money for that 350
