IAC = Idle Air Control (motor). It controls, acording to computer commands, the Idle speed. As loads increase on the engine at idle, the computer opens the IAC to keep the idle speed at the constant programmed speed. As loads decrease, the computer commands the IAC to close until the programmed speed is obtained. Rough idle caused by the IAC, I'm not sure, unless it doesn't work all together.
