newbie question on posi traction

newbie question on posi traction

hey I have a 87 IROC-z 305 tpi and i was told it has posi traction but today i looked under it and it says use only limited slip diff fluid, does this mean i have limited slip or posi traction? im a complete newbie on this stuff and also what is the real difference between posi traction and limited slip?, thanks

posi= limited slip

positraction was GM's fancy name for limited slip. Pretty much every MFG had their own name and design for limited slip.
