Smog Question

Is it possible to remove the smog pump and emission hoses from the manifolds and the car still run properly? I believe you can just want to be sure. Thanks again for the info

You can, you'll just have to plug off the connections where the exhaust gases normally would flow (the ports on the manifolds, the tube from the cat converter, etc.). But there's no hp gains from such on an otherwise stock ride.

Plus, although emissions testing is out for 3rd gens now in NC, many inspection shops will still look for the equipment to be in tact, as legally it is "supposed" to remain - you'll have to find an inspector that won't crack the hood if you do so (which isn't that hard - I swapped my 1992 over to a carbed 350 with no emissions equipment at all, and haven't had a problem).
