vortec heads intake on, alternator bracket doesnt line up?

anyone else have this problem?

i had the original 305 with Vbelts in my camaro, then swapped it to a 355, i want to use the same vbelt set up, but it seems like the alternator bracket is WAY off with the holes on the intake

what do i need to do?

cut off that section of the bracket, I no longer use the part that bolts to the intake and rather cut if off with a cut off saw flat down the edge and painted it black.

it depends...

are you using the stocker bracket? an aftermarket manifold is usually thicker and thnner in certain places, dont count on it being an exact fit, sometimes with those stocker brackets, spacers are needed, and well, forcing things to work... stock a long bolt in there and pull the bolt holes together...
