Testing a Dizzy????
I intalled my motor 6 moths ago by myself and as I was doing it the dizzy bumped againt the firewall kinda hard, then I preceded to teach myself how to wire up an ignition box. Latter found out I did it wrong and went back to how ti was stock. The dizzy is just a Mallory coil in cap unit. Nothing fancy.
Anyways, I ran into trouble with starting my motor and want to check if the Dizzy is 100% OK. What is the best way to do this?
Thanks

It is not stock.... It is a Mallory unit, like I stated before.
I just wanna know if there is a good way to test a dizzy.
Not sure what other details are needed to have you be able to give advice. If you need some other details, please let me know.

Thats the thing, I am not sure what might be wrong with it.... I guess I need to try to start the motor again.... but problem is I have been having problems with the carb too.... I just wanna know if there is a good, way/place that I can test the main functions of the dizzy. I am sure the advance and stuff is all fine. I just am worried about the housing being a bit off, or the wires inside maybe being a bit off, also that big rubber bushing it has maybe being mis alligned..... It is just a $120 dizzy.... really nothing special.... It is in a pretty crazy motor. All roller, estimated by Trickflow to have around 500HP at the fly. My engine builder said it is a fine, cheap dizzy that will do the job.
I just was wondering if there is a good way to test it, so that if there is, and it comes out OK, then I can just concentrate on the carb.
Thanks.
