1991 z28 305tpi auto tranny,,no smoke when I start it up or drive it normal but when I get on the gas and stay on the gas a blueish smoke comes out the pipes, would that be the piston rings?

I would believe it is infact piston rings.

There are two ways you can burn off oil...one way is to have it leak down from the valve seals while the engine is off, and burn it when you start the motor...but thats only smoke on startup.

The only other reason is the piston rings. You are getting on the pedal and increasing oil pressure. That pressure is going up through the worn rings. Looks like it's time for a rebuild
