might be considered a stupid question, but it might solve my problem, i dont want to tamper with it otherwise...

I assume the black rectangular box underneath the dash on the right side, is associated with the VATS security system, im assuming, i might be wrong..

but i think i might have it in the wrong way, like upside down, so if anyone has one, and they can tell me which way the speaker is facing,(the side of the black box with holes in it, (speaker) the other side has nothing just flat smooth blackness , eaither up, or if its facing down i need to know, this might be a simple fix i hope..

 

Speaker? On a VATS module? I didn't know VATS modules had a speaker. Are you certain that it's not part of an aftermarket alarm system?

 

That is most likely the seat belt and headlight buzzer the plugs into the convenience center right next to the steering colunm.
The VATS module is over by the heater.

 

haha alright.. i was just freakin out.

so that box is basically not important in the starting of my car.. for some odd reason i thought it had something to do with vats.. and i took it out to drop the column...

it might be soemthing to do with an alarm system that once exsisted... but basically i can rule this out
