Very quick question

Pushrod length checking is to be performed on the #1 cylinder @ TDC with the rocker tightened down right?

You should measure the pushrod length with a dummy lifter (I take the hydraulic plunger out and fill it with washers to get it to operating level).. Then set the rocker up.. Use a checking spring on the valve you're measuring..

Got no time for that. I have a comp cams length checker, and my #1 cyl is at TDC on the intake stroke. Is this the point at which you would use the checker? I am getting a reading of 6.95 and it doesnt seem right.

if you have no time to do it right why are you bothering to ask how to do it at all? do it any way you like.

no need to use a dummy lifter, but i agree w/ the checking spring (much less tension). just snug it down like a normal adjustment and then measure it

I had all the tools I needed, all I needed to know is what I asked in my very first question, but I found my answer elsewhere, and my checking was performed the right way.
