one piece crank seal, or two?

bear with me, i'm an idiot.

alright, now that that's out of the way, here's my problem:

I have an 88 Iroc with a Corvette Aluminum head L98 350 under the hood. A while ago it started knocking, badly. I jacked the motor out of the mounts, and replaced all the bearings in the bottom end; rods and mains. With the pan off of it and everything disconnected, i didn't notice any severe damage to the main journals or connecting rods, so i figured bearings would solve the problem. It didn't.

Now, I'm getting ready to put a crankshaft in it, figuring that its knocking because the crank is worn out of round. My question is, is my engine a one piece seal crank or a two piece?

thanks guys

One piece, if it's the original engine.

87 was the change year for small blocks and there is an adapter to allow a 2-piece crank in a 1-piece block

Correct.

A new crank may not be needed. The crank you have can most likely be turned down to an undersize. Or, it may already be an undersize and putting in standard size bearings would definately cause knocking.
