Starter Problems, Is It Done or Fixable?

The last week or so when I start my car the starter has had a slightly higher sound to it. Well I was leaveing the store tonight and when I started the car I notice I herd a quick grind right before it turned over(car started right up), and I figured it was about to stop working so I drove it strait home. I got home and tried to crank it up and all it did was grind.

I haven't had not the first problem with the car starting infact the car seemed to start better since it started making the slightly higher sound. The starter is about 2 years old.

Thx for any help I just want to get an idea so I know what im gonna have to fix when I get home from work tomorrow........glad this thing is only a playtoy and not a daily driver..

Check to see if it's still tight to the block and check the teeth on the flexplate or flywheel (whichever you have) for bad spots.
