So we finally got my heads and cam in, button the entire thing back up and start the motor.

The very first thing that we hear is a knocking noise coming from the front of the motor. Doesnt seem like anything is loose, oil pressure is fine, pushrods are correct length, rockers are adjusted properly.

I have no idea what this could be. Any opinions? Has this happened to you before?

Personally I think your "kill record" as a sig isn't really as important as motor specs

front of engine? Timing chain screwed up somehow? That'd sound pretty obvious though, like a chain i'm guessing.

What did you do to the motor again? Cam style?

Yeah I know, it was nothing special until now.

Put in Brodix IK200 heads and a comp 270hr cam. I just cant see how the timing chain could get messed up though, I mean, it was on the teeth of the gears fine.

well, the main moving part at the front of the engine (at least that you would have touched and effected) is the timing chain, hence my first guess.

You have the right cam button, or whatever is needed for your setup?

Yes, the cam I am using is for my application (CCA-08-422-8).

Maybe I can get my hands on a stethescope and narrow down the noise.

Well I found the issue, it is the pulley on the power steering...which is wierd, All I did was take the entire pump off and put it back on...why the pulley would be rattling is beyond me.
