took my car to the strip today
my best time:
reaction time (horrible): .8341
60ft 2.5169
330ft 7.1808
et@594ft 10.3497
1/8th ET 11.0528
1/8mph 64.00 mph
well, i start by saying i dont think its really that slow, not bad for a stock L03.
i will say that i usually go to the strip once a year to race. next year i want to return and run faster. i ran faster than i did last year. last year i ran much worse, i was driving a 94 s10 blazer with a stock 4.3 CPI. my camaro is much quicker. i want to strip off that crap factory exuast. i want headers and a good cat-back, maybe a performance chip. how much of an improvement could i see with a exhuast improvement? i dont take it to the strip that often, i dont want to kill it. i just like to compare runs when i do performance work. maybe someday i will build a 350, would have to be fuel injected and maintain fuel economy that is similar to my 305. i also think that open diff kills me. too much wheelspin. can you get a rear end that is posi but it close to a 2.77 ratio. i really believe that a similar ratio maintains good fuel millage. right now i just want to get a little more out of my 305 and maintain a practical fuel millage. how do you get the same fuel millage from a 350 TBI(truck engine) in a third gen as an IROC 350? i like TBI for its very simple operation and ease of repair. so i would want a TBI engine delivering the millage a 350 TPI gets. is that possible?

yes it is i stock exhuast, at least ive never touched it. its also still 2-1/4" i have no idea what the prevous owner has done. how do i improve 60ft times? i know how to improve reaction time. wouldnt 60ft time have to do with wheelspin? the only way to correct that is to replace that crummy rear end, right? how are thoses times for a car that is stock? is that better than usual? the only mod i have done is an open air cleaner. i raced at lancaster,ny (lancaster speedway) to give you an idea of elevation
