emission testing
so i just bought my first third gen this week. it has a gm goodwrench 305 in it with a large cam (previous owner didnt know the sizes because it was installed before he got the car). it also has 3 inch exhaust and a huge cat on it. but the only problem i have is that supposedly the emissions equipment has been takin off of the engine. is there anyway in hell im going to pass emissions testing. i live in washington and have to get it done ever some odd amount of years and i need to know if im going to have to drop alot of cash to get my emissions equipment put back on the car. thanks
That's lucky. If the catalytic converter is a newer three-way catalyst bed, you will NOT need the A.I.R. system to pass. If it's still there, you can use it with no problems, but if it's gone, you won't need to replace it all.
You will need a functioning oxygen sensor, functioning EGR valve and solenoid, and should have a PCV and EVAP system installed.
What is actually missing, anyway? Have any photos or an inventory?
