I have got 91 camaro rs w/ the 305. it's a 5 speed and whenever i press down on the clutch and get ready to come to a complete stop or slow down the car's rpms take a while to come down. I don't have a clue. Help a brotha out!!!!
Okay here we go my car is a 5 speed rs with a k&n filter, flowmaster 80 muffler. new ignition coil. This car runs fine, but it idles high between gears and whenever i come to a complete stop. @ a month ago the car started backfire or pop really loud and then the car would die out. since then i had the ignition coil put in and it stopped popping and going dead but when it decelerates the poppng sound can be heard, especially when its cold outside. Also you can smell exhaust when your on the inside of the car. had that checked and got a weld on the muffler, but you can still smell exhaust. A mechanic told me it smelled lean. Ive ran cleaner thru the fuel system and have checked the linkage on the tbi and it appears to be fine so I dont understand. On cold days the cars warms itself and then wil idle back down just like it suppose to but the minute you start to ride the high idling starts again. Help!
