i need help on a lt1 asap please read

ok i got the heads off and the number one piston has corrosion and is grimey i wanted to know how do i clean it up?? im replacing all the gaskets on the engine. i know the gasket was blown so it had to be gettin water in it. but again how can i clean it up??

Does the engine is gripped??

You'r better to removed the piston and hone that cylinder (if it is just surface corrosion), and what's up whit your ring, do they are OK, no rust and gum on! I would be sad if you where putting a few hundred dollard for a few milles

the rings are fine the only thing is the buildup on the piston. is there like a solvent to clean it up or sumthing like that?

Carbon on the piston dome? A wire cup brush in a die grinder works great for cleaning that off. Or is it more than just carbon?
