No AC = Short Belt?

Hey all .... maybe you can help me with this. I have an '89 S-10 with a 3rd gen Camaro 305 in that has been carbed .... backed with a 350 tranny.

My question is in reference to the serpentine belt. The AC compressor is making an aweful squeal and I want to delete it. I took the comp. off ..... and the bracket/tensioner is still there. Is there a way to run a short belt as is? If not ..... what do I need to get?

I believe GM Direct has an a/c delete pulley for around $40.00. I am not sure if there is a belt that is shorter than the one you have. Newb input only.

That's correct. Make your life a little easier and buy the pulley. Run a search, I know it's been brought up a million times.

Theres really no way to run a belt without the AC pulley because of the position of the tensioner...you are going to need the AC delete pulley.

Motormite makes those delete pulleys now too... You should be able to get them through any standard auto parts store (Advance, Autozone, etc)..

That's the exact one I just ordered at Advance. $31. Thanks a bunch guys.

BTW, I'm a Mustang owner, hehe. Ironic, eh. Hopefully I won't get flamed for saying that on here, lol. We have several F-body owner's on StangNet and they fit right in.
