Hey just wondering if an engine is any good if its been sitting for 20 years with gas still in it?

Depends on your definition of "any good" and whether is was stored outside, still in a car, parts removed etc. We'd need to know a little more.
Also, most engines that are "out" of cars were usually removed because they had problems. Except maybe the one in my garage that was running fine when it was pulled out...

sitting in a car for 20yrs, and is it good as in take it out rebuild it or is it rusted from inside???I dont know

No doubt the '80s vintage fuel is probably not even flammable any more. The rest of the assembly might be just fine, and may not be heavily rusted. I'd be tempted to start it, too, but only after pulling plugs, adding some two-stroke oil to the chambers, turning it by hand for several revolutions, and building some oil pressure first. If you can get it to turn relatively easily by hand with the plugs removed, you might have a chance.

There's nothing wrong with using it as a core for rebuild, either.

Im not just gonna start it, it will be pulled and gone through. I was just wondering iuf its still good and not have too throw away. Its a 69 satellite with 383 police interceptor, 9.7 quarter mile that my dad let sit since before i was born.

My friend bought an old Cutlass that was sitting in a field untouched for at least 8 years(maybe more we never found out). Gave it a tune up and replaced a couple small things(fuel lines, rebuilt the carb, etc etc) and it fired right up. He was able to drive it for a couple years actually.

Dunno if that helps out any, to this day that just shocks the hell outta me though.

Yes, it should be rebuildable. The block and head castings should be very stable and normalized by now.

A 9.7 quarter mile??? That sounds like a drag car. Finding gas to run it that doesn't cost a fortune will be more of a problem than getting it running.

what are you going to do with a dodge 383 that's 3rd gen related?

but yea, it's probably rebuildable. I think best bet might be selling off parts to people who are looking for old hotrod/resto type parts, probably get a good buck for it.

Its not 3rd gen and it wont be for sale, im going to rebuild it with my dad! Eventually!
