Engine: 305 stock

Transmission: 700R4

Axle/Gears: Stock, 2:73 gears

problem starting

i have a problem starting, like i have to hold it for awhile for it to start, then sometimes it will start then die...... any suggestions??

im thinking spark plugs.... maybe it needs a damn good tune job.... its an 1986 Pontiac Trans Am 305 4BBL ....
